Zoo and castle of La Barben

Encounter with biodiversity

With family or friends, you can discover the strange and fascinating reptiles occupying the 12th-century sheepfold.
A small train takes you to the heart of the park (please note that it only runs on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and during school vacations). Shaded picnic areas are available, as are various tables scattered along the paths.

And for the kids, don’t miss the huge playground!

A former 11th-century fortress built on a rocky outcrop, the château was first owned by King René in the 15th century, then by the Marquis de Forbin for 500 years. Converted into a château de plaisance in the 17th century, it boasts magnificent formal gardens designed by Le Nôtre.
Flanders, Brussels and Aubusson tapestries, French ceilings, gypsery decorations, painted canvases, Cordoba leathers: the château is entirely decorated and furnished in period style.

Daytime and evening shows are organized for all to enjoy!
